WordPress menus help visitors navigate your website easily. Whether it’s a list of pages, categories, or custom links, menus make your site user-friendly and organized. Here’s a quick and easy guide to working with WordPress menus.

Accessing the Menu Settings

To start, log in to your WordPress dashboard. On the left-hand side, look for Appearance and click Menus. This is where you’ll create and manage your website’s navigation.

Creating a Menu

If you don’t have a menu yet:

  1. Click Create a New Menu.
  2. Give it a name, like “Main Menu” or “Footer Menu.”
  3. Click Create Menu to start adding items.

Adding Items to Your Menu

On the left, you’ll see a list of pages, posts, categories, and custom links. To add something:

  1. Check the box next to the item you want (like “About Us”).
  2. Click Add to Menu.
  3. Drag and drop items to arrange them in the order you prefer.

You can also create submenus by dragging an item slightly to the right, making it a dropdown under another menu item.

Setting Menu Locations

Scroll down to Menu Settings and choose where the menu should appear (e.g., the header or footer). Check the appropriate box and click Save Menu.

Editing or Deleting Items

To edit an item, click the small arrow next to it, change the label, and save. To delete, click Remove.
